Text under/over bar for Color Bar Alert Study

We would like to identify signals/alerts by a text identifier, as there are several different kinds of alert/signals for this chart. It's a numbers bar tick chart. Having tried all the text options under 'draw style', & entering text in the text box... nothing appears where the former 'point on low'/'point on high' showed on a valid signal, & the scaling of the chart also compresses. Is there a method for drawing some text under/over a bar, similar to 'point on low'/'point on high'? Please advise. Thank you! |

If we are understanding your question correctly, then you would want to use the Value On High/Low draw styles. Thanks... I'm not seeing how to actually use text to identify the signals by name, because using either of those solutions still cause the chart to go wonky in the scaling. We would prefer text, but it seems using a numerical reference system will have to do, as the Custom Values allows the placement of a number at the top or bottom of the bar with no problem. Sorry, you did mention that you were wanting text, and I just did not fully grasp that. There really is not a built-in method to put multiple textual information onto a chart. You would really need to do this by creating a custom study (or perhaps someone already has one). The option for text printed as a Color Bar Alert above/below a bar would be a great addition to the study (similar to how the Candlestick Pattern Study prints abbreviations of the candlestick pattern names). For now, the numbers will just be code for the signal. That'll ride for now. Thanks again, John.. appreciate your quick responses. |
