When I load a VWAP chart with 5000 volume, the data goes back to around January 2020 but when I load a VWAP chart with 100000 volume, the data only goes back to around December 2020. How do I load the data that's missing from the larger volume chart?

The first thing is to make sure that you have a Continuous Contract if this is a Futures symbol.
