a) I assume the moment i close Sierra Charts my autotrader can't place an order - need to keep the software running 24 hours a day uninterrupted if i want it to be available to buy/sell? b) If i wanted to code other things in SC while leaving my one algo running, would i need to open a separate instance of SC? Or can i work on multiple projects in SC just being careful to use sim mode in them while leaving the one study active? |

1. Yes, this is correct, your Autotrader DLL runs within Sierra Chart, therefore the Sierra Chart software needs to be running in order to have your software running. 2. You could be careful to make sure that you are in/out of Simulation Mode when you want to be. But it would be easiest to have a second installation of Sierra Chart that you would use for your development. You can receive the Denali Exchange Data Feed to both installations at the same time as long as they are on the same computer. Refer to the following regarding installing a second Sierra Chart: Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart And to the following regarding the data feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed Connections on Same Computer Simultaneously For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
