Sierra is failing to download historical daily data for Brent futures (CME code BZ). I'm subscribed to the SC data feed. Trying 90 days of not back adjusted data on primary Sierra instance. Log says "Currently no data in file to display. Will start historical data download and real-time updates. File: R:\Sierra\Sierra Data1\BZ-201601-NYMEX.dly | 2015-12-06 14:38:25". After over an hour of waiting, nothing downloads. Intraday data for that symbol downloads just fine. Please help. |

The problem was that this Historical Daily data was being downloaded from Interactive Brokers and apparently Trader Workstation was not responding to the historical data request. We have set up symbol mapping now for this symbol to be downloaded from the Sierra Chart Historical Data service. Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettingsSteps After this re-download the data in the chart with Edit >> Delete All Data and Download. If I were to follow those instructions, updating from server would update all symbols, rather than only Brent. I do not want to update all symbols. Have invested significant time manually adjusting dozens of symbols. Can you please provide a way to update only one symbol (ie BZ). Thanks.

Go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. For that particular symbol you can edit the Historical tab settings. The correct Historical Chart symbol is: SC?## Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Followed the instructions (i.e. updated symbol). Downloading of BZ historical data still is not working. I'm attaching a screenshot showing the log message, the symbol settings and the chart. Please help. Thanks. |

We think that is not the corresponding historical chart symbol and we are removing it. We need to understand specifically what futures markets you want. This is what BZ is: https://misc.interactivebrokers.com/contract_info/v3.8/index.php?action=Futures%20Search&entityId=a19207282&exchanges=NYMEX Is this what you want or some other market? That is correct. Please note intraday works fine.

Set the historical Chart symbol to QA?## When this is done, go to that Daily chart and select Edit >>Delete All Data and Download.
