IB stock orders rejected since TWS build 10.45.1j — Sierra sends no currency field

I know you dont support TWS. But FYI as best I can tell this has happened today after TWS update. I solved with bare symbol (eg ???) Trade/Quote symbol = ?????-STK-SMART-USD Yesterday I didn't need that. TWS build 10.45.1j (built Aug 5 2026, via auto-update), all stock orders submitted from Sierra Chart using plain US stock symbols are rejected. Sierra only shows "Trading server did not acknowledge new order" and internally cancels; no error reaches the Trade Orders window. TWS's API log shows the actual rejection. Sierra's placeOrder message contains no currency: [3;22;;WDC;STK;;;;;SMART;;;;;;;BUY;222;LMT;350.00;0.0;GTC;;DUR252108;;0;;1;;0;0;0;0;0;0;;;;;;;;;;0;;;3;;;0;;;0;0;1.7976931348623157e+308;0;;;;;;0;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;0;0;;;0;;0;0;0;0;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;20260807-06:53:20;]
02:53:20:988 (sync 02:53:20:285) -> [4;2;22;200;The contract description specified for WDC is ambiguous; you must specify the currency.;] It seems that earlier TWS builds (10.45.1i and before) defaulted the blank currency to USD SC documentation still references a "Default Currency Code" service setting on the Interactive Brokers page, but that setting no longer exists as far as I can find. It has been awhile since there has been the need to enter the fully qualified symbol for Interactive Brokers, so we are more surprised that you are only coming across this at this point. Refer to the following for what we are referring to in terms of the fully qualified symbol: Interactive Brokers Symbols: Stock Format And since you are getting the data for U.S. Stocks from our Denali Exchange Data Feed, you do need to enter that fully qualified symbol in the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" and be sure to set the option for "Use as Trade Only Symbol" to "Yes". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) You can setup Symbol Settings to have the IB symbol automatically set when you open a chart for a symbol or change the symbol of a chart. To do this, edit the Symbol Settings for the "?", "??", "???", "????", "?????", "??????", "???????", "????????", and "?????????" symbol settings (these represent the generic stock symbols from 1 to 9 characters long). Then in the "Trade/Quote Symbol" for each of these you can enter something similar to the following (what you enter depends on how you want your IB symbol): ???-STK-SMART-USD Where the above is what you enter for the ??? symbol. This means that whatever you enter for the symbol (such as IBM) will get filled into the Trade and Current Quote symbol (IBM-STK-SMART-USD). -- We are not certain about the Default Currency Code. It may no longer be in the TWS software.
