Why is Connection Bar continuing being green even when internet is off

Once Sierra connection established and bar gets green, it always stays green even Internet is disconnected, why? I tested it by specifically disconnecting Internet cable(unplugged it), but Connection Bar was still green. My understanding was that the Connection Bar should reflect and flag internet being off by changing its color red or so, right? Well, correct me if I'm wrong here. Thx, J |

This is normal because there are multiple separate background market data connections to different servers, and the primary connection really has no actual connection itself in some cases. If the Internet connection is lost, the Window >> Message Log is going to show ongoing connection attempts. If you were to switch to for example the Teton Order Routing trading service doing what you say would cause the status to turn to yellow. Besides Message Log, is there anything else that I can customize the Control Bar with what will immediately (by changing a color, blinking, sound or anything) indicate that Server Connection is interrupted regardless what the reason might be? Thx, J |

We do not understand the question. Although when using Teton order routing, if the connection is lost to the trading server, the connection status will change visibly.
