Hello team,
I noticed there is about a 10 second delay when setting SierraChart to auto-open a chartbook. Same behavior in safe mode. If I go open the chartbook manually, it opens in seconds. Only the auto-open seems to have some kind of delay. Auto connecting to server or not does not make a difference. I even created multiple chartbooks all with different symbols and history set only to last 5 days and still same behavior. Version 2922 rev 57220.
Also tested on two different computers and same result.

Any assistance is appreciated, every second counts.
Thanks!

When you start the program there is going to be time spent where the program itself is getting setup and the chartbooks are not loaded yet. Then the chartbooks will be opened. This is normal and is just part of the process.

Hi John, thank you for confirming it's not any setting or other issue on my end.
Thanks!

So we can better understand this and make sure there is no issue in your case, provide the Message Log, in its entirety, shortly after the Chartbooks open. Instructions:

Hi, thanks for the response.
My message log is always empty for some reason. I'm not sure if there is a setting I missed to enable it.

In addition to my last comment, I proved I can open the Chartbooks instantly if I do it manually before the program opens it automatically. So the ChartBook itself doesn't seem to depend on whatever SierraChart is doing in that 10 second timeframe. Perhaps it would be more efficient to prioritize loading the ChartBook first (assuming there is no issue on my end)?

Thanks!

There was a change awhile ago to allow you to control what messages show up in your Message Log and Trade Service Log. If you updated to certain releases, these items all got set to "No", meaning nothing would show in the logs.

To fix this, select "Global Settings >> Message Categories" and set the items you want to show to "Yes" (or set them all to "Yes" if you are not certain about what you want or do not want).

Then get us your Message Log after you start up Sierra Chart.
