can Control Bar1 and Control Bar2 not be synced ?

Hello, I am trying to make Control Bar1 and Control Bar2 act independently of each other. For example: Control Bar1 is dedicated to Line Tool, and Control Bar2 is dedicated to Text Tool Thank you |

Yes, but that is not how I am using the Control Bar. I am often alternating between the TextTool and the LineTool *using* T1, T2, T3, T4... eg: TextTool+T2; LineTool+ToolCfg14; TextTool+T7; LineTool+T5; TextTool+ToolCfg19 etc. This requires two clicks of Control Bar1 to get what I want. If I could use Control Bar2 that is not synced, it would require only one click to get what I want. |

We are not quite certain what you are trying to accomplish, but refer to the following for how to setup a Control Bar button that selects the tool and configuration together. Hello John, I have half fixed the problem based on your link in #4, just above. 1st, let me restate more simply what I wrote in #3. 2nd, I will describe the situation now after doing #4. *** *** 1st: In *Control Bar 1*, I have the following 4 Buttons: *Text Tool* button *T1* button *T2* button *Line Tool* button I can get my custom made "text" or custom made "line" from T1 button (or T2 button) by toggling *Text Tool* / *Line Tool* buttons. [ie. I can obtain a total of two different texts and a total of two different lines] The problem is that I do not want to toggle. *** *** 2nd: By following your link, I now have the following eight buttons in *Control Bar 1* : *Text Tool* button *T1* button *T2* button *Line Tool* button *CTD1* button (Custom Text Drawing 1) *CTD2* button (Custom Text Drawing 2) *CDT1* button (Custom Drawing Tool 1) *CDT2* button (Custom Drawing Tool 2) The good news is that now I do not need to toggle to *Text Tool* button to make *CTD1* or *CTD2* texts after using the *Line Tool* button (to draw lines *T1* or *T2*). Unfortunately, I was unable (or there is no way) to assign my custom made lines to *CDT1* or *CDT2* even though I selected "Line" from the drop-down menu. This means that I still have to toggle the *Line Tool* button in order to draw my lines *T1* or *T2*. Is there a way to switch off the *Line Tool* button in order to just press *T1* button alone to get my custom line? Or, how can I assign my custom line to *CDT1* button, or any other appropriate button? Best regards |

It sounds like you are making this more complicated than it is - or we are not understanding the issue. Our recommendation is to create Control Bar buttons that let you select the Tool and the Configuration at the same time. For the setup that you reference, this would give you a total of 4 buttons that each does the following: Button 1: Selects Text Tool with Configuration 1 Button 2: Selects Text Tool with Configuration 2 Button 3: Selects Line Tool with Configuration 1 Button 4: Selects Line Tool with Configuration 2 You can then extend this out to whatever other drawing tools and configurations you need.
