Dear Support

Apologies for another request.

Is it possible to display Volume Profile VAH VAL Text in label column.

I don't seem to be able to locate the setting even though POC is presented.

Settings attached.

Many thanks

You can display the Value Area High and Value Area Low prices from a Volume by Price profile in the Label Column in the DOM. To do this, enable the "Value Label" for the VAH/VAL subgraphs and set it to display in the Label column. Refer to the following:

Hi John

I really wanted to show them in the label column just as the POC appears in the Volume by Price Study already.

So the POC (orange reversed) is there but there seems no way to show the VAH /VAL as well?

Additionally, I cannot change to order of text when using the "Volume Area Lines" studies. As can be seen they are placed on top of the Volume by Prices POC label (orange) and I cannot change the order/which is on top.

Can you provide any direction?

Many thanks.

You should not have any issue displaying the Labels for the VAH/VAL in the Label column. Attached is an image that we just did showing that these are displayed in there.

If you are continuing to have an issue with this, then please get us your chart so we can take a look and see what might be going on. Follow these instructions to get us the chart:

As to the order of the drawing of the labels, we do see that the Volume Value Area Lines takes precedence over the Volume by Price, regardless of where they are in the order in the "Studies to Graph". This would be due to a specific precedence being set for one of the studies. This is something in the code to ensure that some studies are calculated before others for certain reasons.

Hi John,

I think it got a little confused. I have the Volume by Price Study loaded (great study) and in the label column with Draw Style "Text With Alignment" I can see the POC but not the VAH / VAL which use the same settings.

I can load a separate study to get these values but I'm sure the "Volume by Price" Study will have a setting which I cannot locate.

Apologies for any confusion. Please see attached image.

Many thanks

It looks like there was a change such that the VAH/VAL Labels are no longer showing. We will have to look into this.

As a workaround, you could use the "Study Subgraphs Reference" and reference the VAH/VAL from the Volume by Price and set the "Draw Style" for the two subgraphs to be "Subgraph Name and Values Labels Only". Then you can turn on the Value Labels for those subgraphs.

The subgraph "Value Area and Outline (SG9)" controls the settings for the value area high and low extension lines. You can enable line labels on that subgraph. The Short Name for this subgraph will apply to both the high and low though, so it's not possible to have separate names for the high and the low.

Thank you Jeffrey,

Hopefully John will be able to have the study amended for the next release.

That is false, SG9 sets the color and outline for the vbp blocks, nothing to do with the VAH/L lines.
Volume By Price Study: Value Area and Outline (SG9)

SG3 & SG4 are used to set the VAH/L labels, see attached chartbook (and image showing labels in label column from sc 2929).

I don't know what you were showing in the image "Sierra Vol by Price - VAH VAL text in labels column 01.png", the blue VAH/L lines are from a different study, right, as they are different color to what is showing in your settings.
In the vbp, what do you have Draw Mode set to?
I would guess it is not set to "Volume Profiles & POC, VAH, VAL, VWAP Lines", therefore it won't draw those labels.

We do not know when/if this would get changed. Right now, there is a solution, which is to use the Name/Value labels for the "Value Area and Outline".
