I updated sierra chart to the most recent version, and a lot of my chartbook is not appearing to transfer over. Is there a way to install the new version without losing the work of how I have my chartbook already set? I installed the previous version to fix it for now, but want to make sure I keep running the updated version without losing the work of the build I have now. Thank you. |

Definitely should not be any problem. What version are you currently running?

We need more specific information about what is happening. Are there certain charts that just do not open? After opening a specific Chartbook do you see all of the charts that are in that specific Chartbook listed under the CW menu? You could install another installation of Sierra Chart in different folder to use for testing: Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Correct, so none of my charts are populating in. I typically have around 14 DOMs up, and only around 7 of those are populating. Seems as if the studies within the DOMs that are populating are working, but my trade windows are all grayed out and do not show and of the normal trade window functions. Also, after opening my first chartbook, I have to force close the whole system as it won't let me click the file button to exit or close chartbook.

Are you having these issues in version 2813 or a different release? If a different release what is the version in which you are having the issues? Are you running Sierra Chart on a MAC or using Linux, and therefore are using an emulator to run the software? Have you installed another Sierra Chart and are you testing with that other installation? No, I do not have issues with version 2813. I installed the current version 2899, and that is when all the issues start. I am on windows. I have not installed another Sierra Chart outside of the Sierra Chart it installs upon the new updated version. When I open a chartbook in the 2899, all of Sierra freezes up and I have to force quit in order to be able to do anything. So, I just install the previous version and that fixes everything back to normal. After installing 2899, I open a chartbook, and many of the messages that populate in the message log are "Array is unallocated", "Array message repeat count limit reached". I use 4 screens, I will attach an image for screen 1 of the 2813 version (working version), then the 2899 version (not working version). You will see that 2899 populates as blank. I then cannot click file or help while in this version. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-04-21 01:01:21

Let us first look into this problem: After installing 2899, I open a chartbook, and many of the messages that populate in the message log are "Array is unallocated", "Array message repeat count limit reached". Attach the Chartbook by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: Attaching a File (Optional) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Here is the chartbook. I loaded this in under the 2813 version, not the updated version. If you are running the updated version, it should break the chartbook anyway. I have 8, 30 second charts and 13 DOMS in this chartbook just in case they do not populate on your end.

We will have a new release out this evening or tomorrow morning to resolve this problem. It is now fixed. It had to do with, creating the trade window during the process of creating the trade window. There was repetition due to processing that should not have occurred when loading a Chartbook, when a chart window gets the focus. There is more work that we need to do. We are not finished. There still is an issue with coordinates for the market data columns in your Chartbook, causing negative rectangle sizes.

The primary issue is resolved and we do not think you would notice any problems, but there is this other issue we still need to resolve. The latest prerelease should work fine for you but fine to wait as well.
