Adjusting chart settings scrolls window tab list to end

I have multiple tabs for each chartbook (at the bottom of the chart) that extend beyond the edge of the chart window. In the latest update, when I change the chart setting (eg change time interval or I rollover contracts), it scrolls the tab list to the very end, even though the active chart is towards the start of the tab list. This didn't happen previously.

We are checking on this and will resolve.

In addition to the above, these are some other strange window & tab behaviours:

- selecting a chart tab scrolls the entire tab list so that this tab is now at the left-most side of the screen (ie any tabs that were to the left of the active tab are no longer visible).
- clicking on a chart whose tab is not visible at the bottom of the screen does not scroll the tab list so the tab becomes visible.
- minimising a chart window only reduces the size of the window and still keeps it as the active window on top of others rather than disappearing to the background and making the next chart in the tab list active. I can also still see the crosshair and time/price scales moving with the cursor when I hover over the 'minimised' window.
- duplicating a chart does not scroll the tab list to the end so that the new chart's tab is visible, even though its the active chart.
- when detaching a chart the chart tab doesn't disappear from the tab list until another chart in the tab list is selected. Similarly when re-attaching a chart, the tab doesn't re-appear on the tab list until another chart is selected. However this behaviour seems to be intermittent
- Duplicating a chart moves the position of the new window slightly down and to the right (in a cascade effect), requiring re-positioning the new window every time.
- switching to another chartbook and then back again brings up a different chart window that was not visible before switching

First thing we want you to do is to update to prerelease version 2893. Instructions:

Software Download: Fast Update

This is very important in order to rule out a particular potential problem in your case!

We will check on these.

- minimising a chart window only reduces the size of the window and still keeps it as the active window on top of others rather than disappearing to the background and making the next chart in the tab list active. I can also still see the crosshair and time/price scales moving with the cursor when I hover over the 'minimised' window.
Set this to Minimize to Bottom:
General Settings Window: MDI Child Window Minimize Method (List) (Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> Multiple Document Interface (MDI) and Custom Title Bar Settings)

We do not see any behavior like this at all. Even when using Minimize in Place.

- duplicating a chart does not scroll the tab list to the end so that the new chart's tab is visible, even though its the active chart.
We will check on this.

- when detaching a chart the chart tab doesn't disappear from the tab list until another chart in the tab list is selected. Similarly when re-attaching a chart, the tab doesn't re-appear on the tab list until another chart is selected. However this behaviour seems to be intermittent
We do not see this issue.

- Duplicating a chart moves the position of the new window slightly down and to the right (in a cascade effect), requiring re-positioning the new window every time.

This is normal standard behavior.

- switching to another chartbook and then back again brings up a different chart window that was not visible before switching
This should definitely not be a problem. The previous active window will be activated. There should definitely be no issues with this. We do not observe any problem like this. And we have no other reports of this either.

This behaviour is observed when the charts are not in a maxmimised state. I have 2-3 charts visible for each open chartbook. For example, just now I have chart #3 and #10 visible in chartbook 1. I flick over to another open chartbook (2) and when I return to chartbook 1, charts #3 and now #20 are visible (instead of #10). I'll wait for the update and see if this is till happening

Maybe you are referring to what is called the z-order of the charts. To control the z-order of the charts, and maintain them identically when you are switching between Chartbooks, refer to:
Window, CB and CW Menus: Windows and Chartbooks (Window)

Changing the order of the charts in that window is the only way to do this.
