Hi,

Am I correct in assuming the two biggest factors to impact CPU usage would be Display -> Chart Update Interval in MS and Performance -> Minimum Chart Update for ACSIL?

I've noticed a CPU spike since recent changes/fixes.

If I only care about 2-3 charts updating quickly can I drastically lower CPU usage by putting chart update interval like 10000 for say 30m charts I look at occasionally and other non trading charts?

Do workspaces in the background not visible use less CPU ie when I select another workspace? Buying a new PC in next few months but need to make some major improvements in my workspaces right now. My problem is yes 2nd instance and 3rd etc are great but many 3rd party studies I rely on don't work, don't work well and often cause crashes in 2nd, 3rd instances. I also can hit Add Custom Study ONE TIME but second time 100% of the time that instance CRASHES. Drives me nuts wish I knew which 3rd party study is causing it!

Look through the following for everything we know about improving performance:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

These do affect CPU usage:

This is usually not relevant or insignificant:
Minimum Chart Update for ACSIL

This will make some difference but we do not know what effect it will have in your case.

Another thing that increases CPU usage is the complexity and density of the graphics shown on the chart.

Yes they will use less because there is no drawing of the chart.

Assuming this means that these studies are crashing Sierra, as opposed to showing exception message log.
You can find the culprit 99% of the time by connecting a debugger like Visual Studio. Community Edition is free.
