alright lads, i am merging profiles together and saving my chart and randomly i'm finding they are unmerging, even opening a saved chart with merged profiles becomes unmerged upon opening. how do i stop them from unmerging automatically?

This should not be occurring. Merged profiles stay in that state when saved and reopened.

Please get us images of before and after so we can see the specific area where you are having this occur. Follow these instructions to get us images:

after a little more experimentation, the profiles are staying as set once the charts are saved, closed and re-opened. that wasn't happening before so i'm not sure if that was just an isolated case.

however, what is consistently happening is, merged profiles on the daily stay merged but if i change the chart time frame to monthly, or any other timeframe for that matter, then go back to daily, they unmerge and i have to start all over again

This makes sense. You are changing the data in such a way that the sub-period time is changing. This requires a completely new calculation and therefore all merges are undone. Refer to the following and the item below it:
Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: TPO Letter/Block Time Period Length (for Intraday charts)

so, if i want tpo's for other time frames, like weekly, i need to open another chart right?.... if i want to keep my tpo setting on the daily.
