Hello, I am inquiring on how to make sure I am overlaying the Denali data feed correctly, as I don't believe I have done it right. I am able to log in and display my IBKR account on sierra, however whenever I close tws I am given the disconnected message and the "Is TWS open" message. I am certain I have the denali subscription, and it is active it has been for months.

Everything on your account looks good, so you should be getting the data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. The only item that you really need to check is the setting for "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds", which needs to be set to "Yes". But, the other thing to keep in mind is that if you are not able to make a connection to the set service, then you will not get the data. So if you are not able to connect to TWS, then this is why you are not getting any data currently. If there is a problem with TWS and you want to get the data without connecting to Interactive Brokers, then set "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings >> Current Selected Service" to "SC Data". You will then get the data, but you are not connected to any trading services. Make sure you translate the symbols after changing your service, which you are prompted to do when you close the Data/Trade Service Settings window. Hello John, I have that setup fine, what I am having problems with is Sierra displaying its data (I think) because I am getting different fills on sierra then what price is actually displaying. I will attach a screenshot as an example. In the screen shot I am in a short position for example and my stop loss does not work, it acts as though it is not there. I have both server side oco and bracket order settings in global checked to yes. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I have translated my symbols to IBKRs, and have my overlay of sierra data. When I look at TWS I have delayed data, which is intentional as I was led to believe all I needed to do was overlay Denali and execute based on its data feed.

If this is a live position, then you would need to check with Interactive Brokers on why that Stop order did not fill at the price it should have. That order should be on the exchange and should have filled. If this is in Simulation Mode, then we would need to look further into it. Hello John, those were from my paper trading account on interactive brokers, as I was nervous of this sort of thing happening, since I had issues last time trying to connect and had to forgo connecting. It seems that I did not have a data subscription for the contract I was trying to trade on IBKR, do I need to purchase that to be able to trade on the same data denali is already providing? That would seem quite counter intuitive, but that is the only thing I could think of, as when I checked in TWS with my trades, I was delayed and every action that happened (exits entries etc) were on a either a delayed price or where you saw in the screenshot in places price wasn't at all. For example from that screenshot in the earlier message that stop loss didn't execute until the delayed data from IBKR hit that price zone. If you think I should try that I will purchase the IBKR data and try to trade again.

Given that you were doing paper trading, this makes perfect sense. Although we do not know how the Paper Trading is specifically setup for Interactive Brokers, the processing of orders is going to be done by Interactive Brokers software, and not by the exchange. So if you are only setup for delayed data from Interactive Brokers, then it makes sense that everything is aligned to that delayed data and not real-time data. When you are doing live trading, you do not need to worry about the data you have setup with Interactive Brokers. In this case, everything is processed at the exchange, so everything will work properly.
