For years, I have copied a chart book from one computer to another by simply copying the chart book from one computer and pasting it in the data file on the other computer. Now, I am finding that when I do this, all of the drawings from the source computer do not get copied. Only drawing before a certain date are copied. Has something changed on Sierra Chart's side? How do I easily copy a chart book from one computer to another so that all of the drawings and studies from the source computer show correctly on the destination computer.

Copying the chartbook in the manner in which you are doing it is the correct way. You should not have any issues with missing drawings.

The only thing we can think of that would cause something like this is that the Chartbook is not saved at the time that you copy it, so the Drawings are not fully updated in the source file.

Also, just to be safe, be sure to not have Sierra Chart running in either instance at the time that you do the copy.

It is good to know that is the correct process. When I copied the chartbook, Sierra chart was not open. I had saved prior to closing. When the drawings did not all copy over, I again opened Sierra Chart, saved upon exiting, waited until Sierra Chart fully closed, then made a fresh copy of the chartbook. Again, all of the drawings did not copy over. What else could it be? What else can I try?

After copying the Chartbook to the other installation of Sierra Chart, and you have opened it, go to one of the charts where there should be Chart Drawings and go to Tools >> Manage Chart Drawings Window. Do you see the drawings there?

Thank you for the suggestion. When I click on tools >> manage chart drawings window, nothing happens. I don't see any of the chart drawings before 12/20/24. What else can I try?

Please get us the chartbook that contains the chart that is supposed to have the drawings in it. Follow these instructions to get us the chartbook:
Support Board Posting Information: Attaching a File (Optional)

Please let us know the chart that has the drawings and let us know one specific drawing that should be on the chart. Give us the drawing type and a Date and Time where it should be visible.
