Is it possible to be classified as a non-professional to get the reduced CME data fees if my account is in the name of an LLC? I have read the critera and I qualify as non-professional but I have read some brokers/data feed providers automatically tag you as a professional if the account is in the name of an LLC. I currently have a personal account with Dorman using Teton data feed but would like to switch to an LLC for tax benefits but as a non-professional. Please advise. Thanks You must be an individual natural person (or a qualifying small business entity). You must have an active futures trading account and access the data via a device capable of routing orders to the CME Globex Platform. Your use of the information must be solely for your personal or private use, specifically for managing your own assets, and not for any commercial purpose or the benefit of any third parties. You must not be registered or qualified as a professional trader, investment adviser, or associated with any stock, commodities, or futures exchange or regulatory authority (e.g., SEC, CFTC). You must not be employed by a financial services entity (like a bank or brokerage) to perform functions that would require professional registration. You must not be a member of any exchange or be affiliated with any entity considered a professional user. |

Having the account in the name of an LLC does not impact whether we will consider you a Professional or a Non-Professional. But you may have to give some additional information in relation to the LLC to make sure that it is not managing assets or giving financial advice. We can not speak for other entities, this is just how we function.
