Unable to open sierrachart.exe. No login window appears and no instance opens. I can open the arm version but exe withall my studies will not open. I tried downloading the software again but I get the same result. I am running on a mac with parallells, it was working fine before I tried to open it today. Thanks |

So the ARM version of Sierra Chart is running fine, but custom studies you are using are not showing up? Did you make these custom studies yourself? I did not make the studies, I was using the arm version and the studies weren't displaying. In a support call with sierra they determined it was because the studies had not been configured for arm so I switched to non arm and it was working until this morning. If I click on the arm version I get the normal login window and then the program opens. If I click in the non arm I don't get a login window at all and then nothing happens.

In the ARM version, restart Sierra Chart and provide us the Message Log after you open a Chartbook so we can see the origin of those studies. Instructions: Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases) We will then determine how best to resolve this. We may just build the studies into Sierra Chart if they are part of user contributed studies. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. After trying several different solutions, here's the one that finally worked. The issue appears to be connected to updating Windows. I uninstalled the Windows update, and everything is working fine now (as SC indicated, it does not appear to be an issue with SC itself - the problem relates to a Windows update). Here's the solution I found: 1) Go to "Settings" in Windows; 2) Select "Windows Update"; 3) Select "Update history"; 4) Scroll down to "Uninstall updates"; 5) Start uninstalling updates until you find the one that caused the problem (be sure to turn off auto updates and restart after each update uninstall). After doing the above, all my custom studies are back and working properly. Hopefully Windows will fix this issue sooner than later. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-12-13 02:39:21

We only know that the issue has gotten worse, as there are a number of people having the issue of not being able to run the x64 version of Sierra Chart. We do not believe that this has anything to do with Sierra Chart, but is related to something in either MAC OS, Parallels, or Windows. And, since you found a workaround, this supports our theory. This is the fix: Microsoft updated Prism (x64 emulation on ARM) with some new settings. I found the new features can be disabled. Right-click on the SierraChart_ARM64.exe file Properties>>Compatibility>>Change Emulation Settings and then check the box for Hide Newer Emulated CPU Features (x64 apps only) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/arm/apps-on-arm-program-compat-troubleshooter Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-12-15 02:05:14
