There are two ways to save the Trade Activity log. One is through "File >> Save Log As" and the other is through "File >> Export".

The Export option saves the Trade Activity Log in a format that it can be read back in again (imported). As such, the times are set to UTC and the prices are the unadjusted prices. Refer to the following:
Trade Activity Log: Importing and Exporting Data

The Save option saves the Trade Activity Log as you see it on the screen. Refer to the following:

What do you mean it is distorting the times?

Which option are you using - Export or Save?

We can not help with Excel doing odd things with the time. We do not know what the program is doing or why.

John,

Maybe you can help point me in the right direction, am trying to figure out the flow of information from my clicking/submitting of an order to the CME.

It is my understanding that the order is generated by my click, then it flows to DTC protocol then to Teton and then to the CME, is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

If you are using Teton for your order routing, then Yes, that is the flow. In general, the flow is that the order is sent to whatever service you are connected to which forwards it (or holds it, depending on the order type and the service) to the exchange.

The particular method of transfer to the trading service depends on the service itself.

The order that you submit from Sierra Chart, goes over a network connection, the Internet, directly to a server in Aurora Illinois. This server then sends the order to the CME over a private link. This is our server.

The source code that generates the Trade Activity Log is not available.

The only source code that is available is for studies or examples.
