For reasons I don't understand, Recent Bid / Ask Volume columns stop showing traded volume sometimes. They just go empty. Reconnecting to the Data Feed doesn't help. Restarting doesn't help. Recalculating the Chart doesn't help. Even opening a fresh DOM and adding these columns doesn't help! I keep experiencing this problem. The last time I experienced it, reconnecting to the data feed fixed it. I don't know what triggered it back then. Today, I opened a second instance of Sierra. That caused the first instance, which was already running and connected to the Data Feed, to clear all Recent Bid / Ask volume columns. I am running ARM64 build on Parallels. I experienced this problem before with x64 build as well. I am attaching two screenshots - the DOM that stopped working after opening a second instance (with a blue VP) and a new DOM I opened after the issue occurred (no VP). The Recent Bid / Ask volume columns are light grey ones in the middle. Edit: clarified that I mean Recent Bid Volume / Recent Ask Volume columns. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-10-14 13:27:12

We can not think of any reason why this would occur. And opening another instance should not have any impact whatsoever on the Recent Bid/Ask Volume columns in another instance. The one thing we want to point out is that these values are kept as part of the Symbol, and not per chart. So if you have another chart for ESZ25.CME and you clear the Recent Bid/Ask on that chart, this will affect all charts for that symbol. But, the data should continue to fill in again from that point forward. We are curious what the columns are to the far right in the one image that shows values and the volume profiles. Let us know what those columns are. One of the things we would like you to try is to disable the option for "Use Custom Symbol Settings" in the Symbol Settings window. Refer to the following: Global Symbol Settings: Use Custom Symbol Settings Values (Global Settings >> Symbol Settings) After you do that, and select OK to close that window, then select "File >> Reconnect". Let us know if this resolves it. If so, then this means that there was something changed in the Symbol Settings that is causing an issue. I only have one DOM in this chartbook and currently only use 1 chartbook for one symbol. Other than this DOM I have 1 chart with the TPO study and 2 bar charts. We are curious what the columns are to the far right in the one image that shows values and the volume profiles. Let us know what those columns are.
The columns are, from left to right: - Price - Buy Order Column - Recent Bid Volume - Recent Ask Volume - Sell Order Column - Current Traded Bid Volume - Current Traded Ask Volume Interestingly, Current Traded columns and Volume Profile study update without issues. One of the things we would like you to try is to disable the option for "Use Custom Symbol Settings" in the Symbol Settings window. Refer to the following:
I unchecked the checkbox, reconnected, reloaded the DOM in question. No change. As a side note, I noticed that the Current Traded Bid/Ask Volume columns often draw improperly when volume accumulates long enough - larger values seem to be clipped (see attachment). Check these settings: Global Trade Settings Windows: Recent Bid Ask Volume Timeout in Milliseconds (Global Settings >> Chart DOM Settings >> Other >> Other Settings) Global Trade Settings Windows: Reset Recent Bid/Ask Volume on Bid/Ask Change (Global Settings >> Chart DOM Settings >> Other >> Other Settings) This is 100% impossible: Today, I opened a second instance of Sierra. That caused the first instance, which was already running and connected to the Data Feed, to clear all Recent Bid / Ask volume columns. It is only coincidental.

I checked the settings you mentioned. 'Reset Recent Bid/Ask Volume on Bid/Ask Change' was set to 'No' and 'Recent Bid Ask Volume Timeout in Milliseconds' was set to 100. I changed the former to 'Yes' and the latter to '101', then back to original values. Neither made a difference. My Recent Bid/Ask Volume fields on existing and new DOMs remain empty.

We are not able to reproduce this. The Recent Bid/Ask columns are properly updating for us, as can be seen in the attached image. There is no reason for there to be an issue with this, so as much as we do not like saying this, the only thing we can think of is that this may be an issue with running on Parallels. Thanks for checking this for me, John. I was suspecting it's Parallels as well. Back to Windows laptop I'm afraid...

I opened my Chartbook on a Windows computer and noticed that the numbers are empty as well! A bit perplexed by this I installed a fresh version of SC. Numbers appeared - as long as I was using SC Data feed. Once I changed it to Rithmic, numbers were gone. Any way I could get it to work with Rithmic? So strange. I am attaching two screenshots with Data Feed settings. |

If you get data from Rithmic, of course you've to enter username/password 3 times and not just twice

There does seem to be some issues with Parallels, though. Despite using a freshly installed instance and SC Data, data columns just stopped updating anyway

Numbers gone again - Windows laptop, fresh install, SC All Data Feed. WHat I did: - Opened Sierra on the Windows laptop, configured a new DOM - ok - Opened a second instance on Parallels, set Data Feed to SC All. No data was coming through - Disconnected from the feed on the Windows laptop - Connected to the feed on Parallels. Data coming in, no Recent Bid/Ask numbers - Shut down Sierra on Parallels - Reconnected to the feed on the Windows laptop - Data coming in, no Recent Bid/Ask numbers So I think this does have something to do with setting up more than one instance. The Rithmic part may be coincidental. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-10-24 14:42:52

You are not setup to get real-time data to multiple computers at the same time. So if you have Sierra Chart running under Windows and another in Parallels, then this would be seen as 2 different computers. In this case you would not get any data to the "second" system. But this would be no data, and you would not have any bar updates. Apart from the above, we do not know what might be occurring.
