Is there a way to have a contract rollover on volume only? and to have the rollover date on the chart show that specific date?

The only way a contract will automatically rollover is if you have the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol" set to "Yes". In this case, the rollover is a Date-Based rollover only. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) Otherwise, you decide when to rollover to the next contract. You can be notified if the volume of the next contract is greater than the current contract you are viewing by setting this option: General Settings Window: Detect Rollover Of Current Futures Contracts Symbols Based On Real Time Volume (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Symbol) From that point, the control of when the rollover is defined for past contracts in a Continuous Futures Contract is controlled by the setting for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Continuous Contract". To view the rollover dates on a chart, refer to the following: Chart Menu: Show Rollover Dates (Chart menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
