Hello I am new to Sierra Chart and I was wondering, is there any way for me to backtest the ES futures market without only having to trade one specific contract. Id like to manually backtest a years worth of ES but when I try to I can only select ESu25, is there anyway that I could backtest a years worth of ES data, any timeframe, without having to trade a specific contract. Like if I were to actually trade all of 2024 for example, this is what I would like to simulate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thank you

You need to setup the chart as a "Continuous Futures Contract" chart. Refer to the following:

For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Ok thank you I just want to confirm, it says "You must use a standard futures contract symbol for the chart. For example: ESM23-CME. Make certain the Symbol is not a continuous contract symbol. Do not use a symbol with a # in it." this means that if I do everything correctly, even if my chart is showing ESM25 it is actually showing the entire ES market from my specified date, rather than just showing ESM25 from my specified date? Is there any way that I can check?

The reference you post is in relation to a very old method that was available to get a Continuous Futures Contract Chart using a specific symbol. Just ignore that.

The point is that you need to have the current front contract symbol loaded - so for ES it would be ESU25-CME (as of today - August 25, 2025). Then setup the Continuous Futures Contract chart per the instructions on the page given previously.
