Dear Support

Can you assist with correcting this issue. I've tried different ways of entering data but on the 60 min I cannot seem to resolve this issue. Each time I go to the 60 min I end up with a tail on the fill area.

Many thanks.

It has to do with the fact that you are using a 1 hour chart and the market doesn't open and close on the hour. Try 30 min or 15 min.

Try using the Fill Rectangle Draw Styles instead:
Chart Studies: Fill Rectangle Top (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_FILL_RECTANGLE_TOP) and Fill Rectangle Bottom (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_FILL_RECTANGLE_BOTTOM)

Oops ... actually the outcome was not what I'd hoped.

Sierra Chart Engineering: "DRAWSTYLE_FILL_RECTANGLE_BOTTOM / DRAWSTYLE_FILL_RECTANGLE_TOP" worked perfectly ... EXCEPT it prevents viewing drawing objects like rectangles etc. as it blocks them out. They are there but obviously underneath, hence I think the need for a work around and originally using "DRAWSTYLE_TRANSPARENT_FILL_BOTTOM".

Any thoughts on this?

Many thanks.

Use the transparent variant of fill rectangle.

Chart Studies: Transparent Fill Rectangle Top (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_TRANSPARENT_FILL_RECTANGLE_TOP) and Transparent Fill Rectangle Bottom (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_TRANSPARENT_FILL_RECTANGLE_BOTTOM)

Hi, 431178

Unfortunately although that's the draw-type I want it's also the one that causes the issue.

As ForgivingComputers.com writes "the market doesn't open and close on the hour" which is the cause of the problem but there has to be a work around.

I'm hoping John or Sierra_Chart Engineering will revisit the thread and help with a solution.

So what is the issue?

You tried fill top/bottom and got strange artifacts on chart = no good
You tried transparent fill top/bottom and got strange artifacts on chart = no good
You tried fill rectangle top/bottom and got the desired outcome (no artifacts), except instead it blocked drawings = no good

What's the the problem with transparent fill rectangle top/bottom, it neither blocks the drawings nor does it have strange artifacts on the chart.
Did I miss something?
