Dear Sierra. Hello to All. I run Sierra win 2 instances. 1 for the bulk of my charts, and the other for the execution. Something strange is happening lately in 1st instance sierra can load all chart data successfully but in my execution instance it says "the network socket has been closed" Ive tried all the available info i found on your pages. -Disable firewall -use port 80 to historical data to NO(Which it was there) - Delete and download data. Iam out of ideas Iam trading thru Rhythmic but the weird thing is that i have all the data in my original instance loading with success Thank you Stelios |

Please check the following items: - In the main instance (not the sub-instance that is started, the main one that is directly connected to Rithmic) note the value entered for the following setting: Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> DTC Protocol Server >> Historical Data Port - In the Sub-Instance check the following setting, which should be set to the same value as the setting you noted above: Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings >> Historical Data Server Port If these are not the same, then correct this. Note that the default port number for this is 11098. If you are not going to use port 11098, then you should use a port number in the range of 49152 to 65535. Dear Sierra. They were different. I entered the same port but still failing to download data. But strange thing is that when i enter the same port on the sub instance, save it, close Sierra and restart it,the port on the sub instance is automatically changed. I have attached a pic of my sierra chart server setting to check if anything is wrong |

In the Sub-Instance, it is not the "Sierra Chart Server Settings" that you need to check. It is the "Data/Trade Service Settings". Please check the correct location and see what the ports are set to on that window.

In this case, we need you to reboot your computer, as we wonder if that port is in use by another program. When your computer restarts, run only Sierra Chart and see if you continue to get the error in your Message Log in the sub-instance for "Connect Event Error. Windows Error Code 10013...". The error 10013 is very unusual. Probably a restart of the computer is a good idea. Also disable firewall software on your computer. The Windows firewall can remain.
