I have had this issue intermittently for a while...

This is the scenario:

I have a chart fine for a symbol ***_MBO that appears fine.
I want to change the Tick Size value specifically for this symbol.
But when I add specific symbol settings for symbol ***_MBO and go back to the chart, I get a red warning sign afterwards saying
"Historical Intraday Data Download Failed Error downloading historical Intraday data for ***_MBO. Historical data file for ***_MBO not available."

When I go to the data folder I see the ***_MBO.scid file there but it is only 1kb big (.dly file seems normal). If I REMOVE the symbol settings entry for the symbol, the file size reloads back to a normal size. I believe all my settings are correct for the symbol entry. So I'm not sure what could be causing the issue. Please advise

Thanks

Please use the actual symbols you are using.

For instance, you opened a chart for SPY_MBO and then did you change the symbol settings for SPY_MBO, or for ***_MBO?

You are not actually trying to open a symbol for "***_MBO"? This is not a valid symbol.

in this particular case today I was using UNH_MBO and adding symbol settings for that symbol.

the reason i used *** was because this has happened on other symbols in the past so I was just trying to generalize the example

Did the UNH_MBO symbol already have symbol settings, so you were editing those, or was this a new entry?

If it was a new entry, did you copy the symbol settings from another symbol, or did you set it up from scratch?

If you copied the symbol settings, what was the other symbol you copied from?

I took the entry that was under UNH-NQTV and duplicated it then renamed it and modified for UNH_MBO.

attached is the original UNH-NQTV i duplicated. The only change I made was to change SC Data Symbol to UNH_MBO

What you did will not work. The service settings for a -NQTV symbol will not work for an _MBO symbol. Delete that UNH_MBO symbol from your symbols settings.

Use the "?_MBO" symbol as the base and duplicate that and change the symbol to UNH_MBO. You should be fine from there.
