I've got Futures data and Consolidated Stock data feeds. Downloading Futures data into chartbooks is working fine, but when I open Stock chartbooks the data does not download completely and hangs up the whole platform (All Chartbooks), frequently. Yes I am using many different charts in each chartbook, but if I was overloading then the Futures data download would be a problem, and it is not, just the Stock data. Any Ideas? Thanks |

Keep in mind that you may be viewing more stock symbols than futures symbols. And as such, you probably already have most of the data for the futures symbols you are viewing and only need to download a small update. But if the stock symbols are new, or changing often, then you may be downloading a lot of data for those stocks. Although the real place where an impact to the system will occur is when it is trying to load the data for the chart. Downloading occurs on a different thread, so that should not be an issue, but when it actually goes to update the chart and is calculating the bars and studies, then this is where the system could stop responding, as it is busy with this particular item on a single thread. We really need for you to wait at least 5 minutes when this occurs and see if the charts load up. If you continue to have an issue, then you would need to do some troubleshooting by starting with 1 chart and ensuring everything is working well, and then increase the number of charts to see if there is an issue related to this, or at least so you can see how the number of charts will impact the performance. Yes it usually is with 'NEW' stock symbols that I'm downloading data into charts. I will do as suggested and allow more time. Also I'll test with the single to see how well that works, then add more to see what happens. Thanks |
