hi

i think there is a Problem with the "Automatic Trendlines" study. When this study is based on the "Swing High and Low" study, it doesnt show the UP Trendline. The Down Trendline works correct, but the UP Trendline is not showing.

i have attached a chartbook with those two studies. Can you tell me please what is wrong with the UP Trendline? I tried in market replay and it never showed the UP Trendline, only the Down Trendline is working correct.

thx for help

Is there a way to fix tis study?

or is there an older version of this study available which will maybe work?

We have not had time to delve into this. Please give us a few more days to look at why it is not working with the Swing High/Low.

The issue with the study was that it was not setup to handle the situation where the data was not continuous. With the Swing High/Low study, you do not have data at every point, therefore the values in between are set to zero. When looking for the lowest values, it would return those zeros, so you ended up with no Up Trendline.

We have added an Input to the "Automatic Trendline" study for "Ignore Zero Values". Refer to the information for this new Input at the following link:
Automatic Trendlines

Note that you will have to specifically set this to "Yes", otherwise it will continue to work as it used to. This is necessary in case a trendline is trying to be drawn where zero values are valid.

This change will be in the next pre-release (v 2637).

Great, thank you.

can you tell me please when to expect the next pre-release (v 2637)?

or if its not to much work, could you post the updated study here? i think its in studies4.cpp, so i could use it without wait.

thanks again

We do not have specific release dates. Releases get pushed out every few days or so based on when there is something that needs to get out.

Attached is the updated Studies4.cpp file with the changes in it. You will have to pull the study function out and create your own custom study. Refer to the following:
