Hi Support,

Hope you are well :)

I have been driving myself crazy trying to get horizontal grid lines to match each price/colour block for market depth historical graph

Is there a way for this to work automatically or change the outline colour of market depth fill colours?

I have attached a graph and I have been changing the scale settings, I have this set as a constant range to mirror the DOM as much as possible

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks,

We are not understanding the issue exactly.

In the provided image we do not see the Horizontal Grid Lines, so we are not sure what you are trying to line up, or what exactly the issue is.

Hey John,

Apologies for not being clear

I am trying to have outlines around each depth on the market historical graph study to make it more prominent and separate each market depth level more

I was trying to achieve this by adding horizontal grid lines but not having any success.

What would be the simplest way to achieve this?

Many thanks,

We can not think of a better way to do it, but there are some tradeoffs with what you are trying to do.

First, you need to set the following (in addition to having the Horizontal Grid on):
- Chart >> Chart Settings >> Grid >> Draw Horizontal/Vertical Grid Above Graphs: Yes
Chart Settings: Draw Horizontal/Vertical Grid Above Graphs (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Grid menu)

- Trade >> Chart DOM Settings >> Other >> Extend Chart Horizontal Grid Onto Chart DOM: Yes
Global Trade Settings Windows: Extend Chart Horizontal Grid onto Chart DOM (Global Settings >> Chart DOM Settings >> Other >> Other Settings)

- Scale Settings (right click on ladder and select Scale Settings) >> Horizontal Grid Line Increment: Tick Size of the chart

---

The issue with the above is that the lines are going to shift a bit depending on the range of the scale. So sometimes the lines will be at the level you want, and sometimes they will be in-between the market depth. You will have to see if the particular scale range you want to view works out or not.

Is it possible to have the market depth always remain within the boundary of the DOM grid?

I see some depth readings bleeding through the grid lines and others are perfectly confined.

I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the "bleed".

We are not seeing this ourselves. Is this a Trading DOM or a Chart DOM?

It's a Chart DOM. Is there a way to just not have the grid?

A Chart DOM does not have a grid by default. If you are displaying a horizontal grid on the chart and it is displaying in the DOM area, then refer to the following setting that controls this:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Extend Chart Horizontal Grid onto Chart DOM (Global Settings >> Chart DOM Settings >> Other >> Other Settings)

I don't see any of the grid options activated in the linked settings above. If I was mistaken and this is a trading DOM - how would I remove the gridlines?

On a Trading DOM select "Chart >> Horizontal Grid" to toggle off/on the Horizontal Grid. Refer to the following:
