Hey I have a weird problem. I use rithmic Direct DTC data and been using for some time now. When I try to use any real time data charts the "Waiting to download historical data" "Downloading historical data" "Historical data download complete" are stuck on constant loop and won't stop. What should I do?

I've tried interactive brokers data for few days before and this problem occured after me getting back to rithmic. Before the reconnect function helped but now it doesn't.

Rithmic was having an issue earlier today, which is probably why you were having this issue. It is supposed to be resolved now.

We would need to see your Message Log to see what might be occurring if it is different from the issue that Rithmic had this morning. Follow these instructions to get us your log:

Has there been any update or resolution to this problem?
I just encountered the same issue when trying out IBKR for the Denali feed verification unsuccessfully (IBKR issue) since the Rithmic feed had some issues.
Am stuck in a similar loop since then. I saw a line in the log that might indicate some leftover, but I did not find any.

2024-05-01 13:23:38.257 | Rithmic Direct - DTC (Data) | Restarting real-time data updates for symbol: NQ-201809-CME (does the format indicate a leftover IBKR symbol despite checking all cleaning tips ?)

I will try a clean install in the meantime.

The issue is exactly what you think it is. You have a bad symbol (as far as Rithmic is concerned) for NQ-201809-CME. As you state, this is an Interactive Brokers symbol that you need to find an remove.

The following section is intended for removing data files to clear up space, but it gives all the places to check for symbols:

Thank you for the quick reply, John.

I have tried those tips, but could not find any old symbols that way. Wonder if they could "hide" in some (config/chartbook) files?

I have started a clean new intraday chart by searching a symbol I usually don't use.

But strangely in the logfile I still see besides EMD also CL and NQ even when there is no chart open and any files with the name deleted...

When trying out IBKR, I accepted the transformation to new symbols. Guess that was not a good idea, I assume OP did the same "mistake".

There has to be something setup that is asking for that data. All of the possible places are referenced in that section we linked you to.

We are not certain of how you started a new chart - make sure it is a completely new Chartbook. Close any other chartbooks, clear your Message Log (Edit >> Clear Log) and then select File >> Find Symbol to open a single chart for a symbol (it does not matter which one). Let us know if you are still getting notices about updates for other symbols.
