Hi, I have packed 5 and use it for Replay function. There is some change in symbols. I use for my analysis symbols. ..NQM14,YMM14, ESM14 and EWM14 (EMD). But EWM14 dosnt work. Please, could you said me corectly symbol for now. thanks

In response to post 49 about expired futures contracts for the ICE Exchange, we have updated the symbol settings for CC and CT for CTS. Update them following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettings Once you do that you will now get the historical data from the Sierra Chart data server. The symbol settings have been updated for all of these issues/requests. Hi SC vs 1115 followed all istructions as above. SC real time data feed could you check historical charts ,seems there is an issue because data start only from 2013 and till september 2013 there are a lot of empity days. i tried setting continuous contract and i found data start from 2000/07/26 but stopped on 2011/09/03 and jump on 2014/03/13 thanks |

Hi Sierra, I have upgraded to 1115 but am not able to get historical intraday data further back than 13 December 2013 (which is as far back as my charts have been going since this whole CTS issue began) My max historical intraday data is set to: 500 - non tick data 365 - 1 tick data I tried the delete all data and download option, but the charts still wont go further back than December. Any suggestions? Is there something else I should be doing? thanks. |

And I have my days to display/load set to 365. It is only since this whole CTS issue that I have only been able to get intraday data back to December. I figured it was due to the expired contract issue so I was waiting for updates on this thread. But having upgraded to 1115 I still can't get intraday data before December I have even tried opening a brand new ES chart (File - find symbol) instead of opening my existing ES chart templates. Still no luck. When you mentioned in a previous post that historical data now comes from Sierra instead of CTS, is that for intraday data? And does it happen automatically or do I need to set something? |

Select File >> Open Historical Chart. Delete the symbols given in the log below. After that reload the chart with Chart >> Reload and Recalculate. What we have changed will affect all symbols. To be clear this is a CTS issue but we have worked around it. What you need to do is update Sierra Chart again by selecting Help >> Download Prerelease. I'm getting "symbol unknown" after downloading the 1116 pre-release. I tried Global Settings --> Symbol Settings --> Update from Server, and see this in the log: Symbol Error - CL.20140500.CME_NY is unknown, unavailable, or improperly formatted. Security definition not found | 2014-04-05 15:22:02 CTS T4: Received 0 security definitions for underlying symbol * | 2014-04-05 15:22:02 I see from this thread this has been ongoing for 3-4 weeks, but I must use CTS (topsteptrader) and won't switch from Sierra Chart. I pay for Sierra Chart's realtime futures feed, but only use it once in a blue moon, on my development computer, to download 4-5 years of data for backtesting. That works with my IB broker. Question: Topsteptrader uses a sim feed instead of live, so is there any way to use the SC realtime feed with topsteptrader? The instructions say you need a live feed. Would I have to enable the 2nd live feed connection with IB, then connect to that from my CTS SC instance as a remote feed? Even if the answer is "yes" that I may use the SC realtime feed for topsteptrader (maybe as a remote feed to IB instance), it's unfortunate that it's an extra $20 just to add a 2nd SC realtime connection for my VPS computer, especially given that I don't use the realtime feed actively and also since CME now charges $15 for exchange fees. Instead of $20 for a 2nd computer, it might be better if you could track concurrent connections instead, or have clients pay for download credits, or just wave the $20 if people opt to not use your realtime feed in a realtime manner on two computers (like me, who needs non-realtime data for my backtesting computer, and realtime data on my trading VPS computer), considering CME's increased exchange fees. This does not make sense and it does not work like this.In regards to exchange fees, those only have to be paid once per Sierra Chart account. Not for each real-time connection with the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. You only need to use a second real-time connection if you are using the data feed from two separate instances of Sierra Chart at the same time. Each instance uses a direct connection. You would not be using any kind of data sharing from a remote instance of Sierra Chart. Anyway, none of this is particularly relevant because as we said if you cannot get the security definition, you cannot trade either. All of this only goes to show why we have insisted numerous times the CTS, that their whole model of how they handle subscribing to symbols, is unnecessarily complicated. And the more and more we look at this and the more problems we see, it becomes more clear, that our position is 100% correct. No other trading platform works like they do. It does not make sense. It is causing an unnecessary amount of problems for us and for users. Reading through this post, and responding to each and every single question, is time-consuming. Especially when there is a misunderstanding about how things work , because that we have to spend more time to explain how things do work.
