Oh very nice, i missed that, thanks :-)

BTW: Currently the price is "stuck" at 125.34 in the scale. But possibly that's because mtgox socketio is down atm?

The streaming data feed from MTGox is not working at the moment. Their server is just not streaming any data. They really have serious reliability and efficiency problems. From what we can see, there whole architecture was not designed for efficiency. Obviously they will know best, but what we see is that one of their main problems is not so much that they have overwhelmed systems, more that they do not have efficient data delivery.

We are able to access historical data though. what you are going to be noticing is about every minute, the chart will update and fill in with historical data.

We have contacted MTGox about the data feed problem. We do plan to bring other data feeds online from other exchanges. But this is not something which is going to happen in a matter of days. It would take longer than that and nothing definite right now.

Yes, i noticed. thanks for clarifying this. Just wanted to make sure it's a mtgox issue. Let's hope they will eventually address and fix these issues.

PS: And all efforts are much appreciated :)

how the volume issue will affect studies like up tick volume and down tick volume
[2013-04-23 22:11:21]
Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
Uptick volume and downtick volume will still be accurate.

We are getting close to implementing a good solution for the display of Volume numbers. Where 1 Bitcoin will be displayed as 1.0000.

And we also going to be releasing support for Bitstamp. We expect all of this to be out next week.

are you going to add full market depth data? i'm trying the bid/ask depth bars study, but its pretty useless with the depth data that you offer (only the first 10).

The Sierra Chart server is now sending through 20 levels of depth.

could you make a study that calculates the bid/ask depth ratio using the full depth? the ratio is just not very useful the way you calculate it in the bid/ask depth bar study (using only 20 levels).

it's also nice to have the bid/ask ratio in USD/BTC so it can be directly compared with the actual price.

here's an idea of what i want the end result to be, a bid/ask ratio vs. price chart in realtime: http://blockchained.com/depth_mtgox_15d.png

No. Sierra Chart does not handle depth data beyond 20 levels.

I noted that charting DOM was left out of the intended bitcoin package
It is included.

We have not considered adding support for more than 20 levels. It has to be carefully considered. We do not want to be reckless with this. It is not a simple thing.

Version 968 has been released. To update select Help >> Download Prerelease.

1. It supports the Bitstamp data feed.

2. It supports correct Volume display for Bitcoin trading.

For details, please refer to:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/Whats_New.php

Be sure to read the notes for 968 because it explains how to get the proper volume display for existing charts.

We have done a full Reloaded historical data for all of the Bitcoin crosses from MTGox. There is now accurate Bid Volume and Ask Volume. There is now 2 years of historical data.

We recommend reloading the data in your charts by selecting Edit >>Delete Data and Download.

We also are using an improved data feed from MTGox. This just uses a plain-vanilla Websocket. No Socket I/O. At this point everything is good and stable.

We do appreciate to work effort from MTGox to get the data feed improved.

I have downloaded the pre-release, re-downloaded all data and set the Volume Value Format to 0.0001. However, there is no decimal point displayed in any volume study. (See attached screenshot)

I can change Volume/Open Int. Modifier to 0.0001 but this will again just round to the minimum of 1 BTC.

We have not yet have the time to work on the Numbers Bars study support the new Volume Value Format.

For the Volume study, use the new Volume-Bitcoin study.

Intraday charts are working fine. Thank you.

What is ETA on availability of historical data? I would like to be able to use daily charts. Is there any way of using intraday data to display daily charts?

If you are referring to Historical Daily data, that will be this week.

For now you can use an Intraday chart by just simply setting Days-Minutes-Seconds in Chart >> Chart Settings to 1-0-0.

Why not server-managed orders? It would be awful to lose orders if I have to disconnect.

Server Managed OCO (Order Cancels Order): No.

Limit orders will be on the remote server. This refers to OCO orders.
