A way for positions to flatten completely once stop or target is hit

Hi,

Is there a way for stops to flatten automatically once target is reached, and vice versa?

As it stands, I open a position, set a target and a stop, and once one is reached the other stays and is activated if/when the market gets back to that point.

I currently close them manually, but this means staying at my desk, I would like to be able leave them, if possible, safe in the knowledge that I won't be in a position I didn't intend to be in once I get back.

Many thanks

If you are adding a Target and Stop as Attached Orders, then when the position closes out due to reaching the Target or Stop, the opposing order will automatically be removed. Refer to the information for "Attached Orders" at the following link:
Attached Orders

For this to not be occurring, which is what you are stating, you would have to be entering the Target and Stop as individual orders separate from the parent order and separate from each other.

If using the "Attached Orders" feature does not give you what you want for some reason, then another option is to setup the Target and Stop after the fact and then use one of the Order Types of "Send Attached Orders - Position/Price". Refer to the following:
Order Types: Send Attached Orders - Position/Price

If these will not work for what you are doing, then we need more information on what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks for your response.

I'll check out the links you have sent me, I'm not the best with this stuff, but what you have said sounds like it will solve my problem.

Thanks again
