Would it be possible to create a Study that is simply an Alert?

Right now, as I understand it, you can only have one Alert per study.

Say, for instance you have a Momentum Study. You are also using a Bollinger Band on the Momentum Study.

Now, you want to have an alert when the Momentum study has breached the upper Bollinger Band. This is simple enough. You can add the logic and the alert sound in the Alert tab.

However, you also want an alert for when it breaches the lower Bollinger Band. In order to do that (again, as I understand it), you have to add a duplicate of the Momentum study and then add the logic/alert sound since there is no way to add it to the original Momentum study's alert tab.

Request/Suggestion: Would it be possible for you to make Alerts/Signals their own Study?

This would be something similar to IRT where you can enter the logic and alert based on a set of conditions but you can also specify a signal marker when the conditions are met. This signal marker can then be plotted above or below the current bar.

If there's already some way to do this now, perhaps you can show me what that is. I can't find it in the documentation.

If you only need the same sound for the crossover of the both BB lines, it can be done in one formula.

If you want a separate alert for each crossover, you don't need to add another instance of the momentum because you can reference the study from any other study's Alerts tab using its ID#.
This allows you can put any alert formula on any study's Alerts tab, or on the Chart Settings' Alerts tab.

If you have more alerts than you have studies and charts, you can use the Spreadsheet System/Alert study which has 12 alertable columns.

Refer to the documentation:
