May be a Glitch in last 2 versions of SierraChart regarding Extended Rectangles

Hello SC Team,
In the last 2 versions of SC (including current version as of today Feb 18, 2025), there seems to be a strange behavior with extending rectangles.
The default configuration under the tools menu is set so that the "Double Extend" is off.
But, when I make a new extended rectangle, it behaves as if the double extend is on.
Additionally, when using the cut tool on the extended rectangle, it cuts the left side instead of the right side.

If I restart the program, this behavior will correct itself about half of the time, but will return at some random point in the day after using the tool several times.

I appreciate any help,
Mike

Hello,
I am not sure why, but this problem did not repeat for the past few days.
I have not changed any settings, but at least for now, it is working as expected.
If I am able to repeat the issue, I will try to give more details.
Thank you

The error duplicated just now.
It appears to occur after changing the settings of an extended rectangle, and then saving it as a configuration.
Of course, I ensured that the settings are correct such that is not set to extend.
Thanks,
Mike

Also, once the double extend feature is on, as a result of this issue, it cannot be turned off by editing the rectangle, and all future rectangle extensions will not allow this to be turned off, regardless of the setting.
Restarting the SC application seems to have no effect.

We still cannot reproduce any problem. We wonder if there is a misunderstanding.

We will need you to show us this in a remote assistance session.

But we want to release a new version that we will want you to update to first.

Ok. Thanks.
I'll wait for the update.
This is a tool I have used for years as part of my daily routine.
I switched over to the extended ray for now, which is sufficient for my purposes.
I'll see if this resolves again and post on what may/may not be causing it.
Best regards,
Mike

The problem has not duplicated in the new versions. I'm not sure why it was occurring, but thank you any way.

Well. It happened again.
What occurs is that regardless of the "double extend" setting, the rectangle and extended rectangle both act as if the setting is selected.
Double extended is drawn even when default or a configuration is selected that does not have it.
However, if I select a pre-existing rectangle that has the correct setting, and then save it as the configuration 1, for example, things work correctly again.
I cannot seem to figure out why this happens, but I do use the configuration hotkeys a lot, and perhaps that has something to do with it.
Best regards,
Mike

Check the Rectangle configuration setting for "Use Start Time". If this is set to "Yes" then what is occurring is that the rectangle is being drawn with one end at that start time, which may appear to be extending left when it is not really doing so.

I will try that the next time this occurs.

That was the issue. The problem appears to be that the setting in the configuration will randomly change to use those values, even though I never use them for anything.
It is not a big deal, now that I know I only need to occasionally fix that setting.
Thank you,
Mike

Upon seeing this a few times, it appears that there is a default behavior, when ever the Configuration 1 is updated from within the actual drawing modification (right click), then the Master Configuration from the tool menu defaults to setting Use Start time and Use End time "yes."
Overriding the No.
Thank you,
Mike

Note: This is referring to the Rectangle Drawing Tools.
