What is the difference between the Cboe Futures Exchange (CFE) VIX futures symbols "VXH25_FUT_CFE" under VX?##_FUT_CFE and "VXH25-CFE" under VX?##-CFE? They appear to chart the same.

There is no difference. There are just two formats and we do need to remove one of them. But you cannot use both formats at the same time, they will conflict with each other.

With the VX?#FUT_CFE|S&P500VIX-CFE you can get spreads, but VX?#CFE|S&PVIX-CFE you can't. The Get Symbols is not active in the latter in order to get spreads.

However it appears the symbols i use under VX?#CFE|S&PVIX-CFE seem to quote more frequently..

VX?##_FUT_CFE and VX?##_CFE are the exact same data. When we first added these we were in the middle of changing the way we formatted symbols, so these got setup with both the old and new. So you should see no difference whatsoever with regards to the data you get with either one. The only reason you may see an issue is that you are using a mix of the symbols, which will cause a problem for the system. So make sure to pick one particular symbol format and make sure all your charts, quote boards, etc. are setup for that particular symbology.

We do see that you can get spreads with the VX?##_FUT_CFE, so if that is something you are wanting, you should use that format.

Yes, i am interested in getting spreads. So I probably should just stick to VX?##_FUT_CFE format. If I have a quote board and a couple charts started with the VX?##_CFE, what would be best to move to other format. Can i just change symbols or would be best to delete and remake each?

You can just change the symbol for each chart. There is absolutely no need to remove the entire chart and start over. The same with any quote boards or Watchlists, just update the symbol in those items.

Should either format update at approximately the same rate(know it is delayed), because when i replaced VX?##_CFE with the VX?##_FUT_CFE format. The LastTime column for most of symbols are approximately an hour and a half behind it. Before changing the symbols had updated all around 21:15-21:42.

They are identical. But when you start using the other symbol format you must completely remove the use of the symbol format you were using previously and reconnect with File >> Reconnect.
