Does anyone have some insight on how to color a candle if the the high - low is less than 50% of the candle range?

High - Low is the candle range.
Do you mean 'is the candle body less than 50% of the candle range'?
Please explain further.

Here is what he meant:

If the Body of the candle is less than 50% of the range then color it blue.

So for a Green(UP) candle-->If the the close of the candle minus the open of the candle is less than 50% of the range (high minus the low of the candle), then color it blue.

For a Red(Down) candle-->If the the open of the candle minus the close of the candle is less than 50% of the range (high minus the low of the candle), then color it blue.

Try this formula:

=ABS(O-C)<(H-L)*0.5
