This started happening from around the time of a Win10 update about 3 months ago, but I am not sure.

Currently using Ver.2646, but a previous and a newer version had same problem.

I have to reenter the time Alerts. Even though the Alert Manager says "Enabled" for the times that I have entered (but the [Log] shows nothing for those times).

Drawing Alerts and Info Alerts have continued to work without problem.

We first need you to update to the latest release so that we are working from the same base. Then let us know if you see the same problem in the current release.

If so, then we need more information. For example, is this only after an update that you have an issue? Do you get an initial alert on a day and then nothing the following days?

It is the same problem with ver. 2679.

The issue is not about Win10 updates.

In the past 3 ~ 4 months, the Time Alerts I enter stop working after the computer is shut down.
(For many years up until 3 or 4 months ago there was never a problem after the computer was shut down.

To answer your question: I do not get an initial alert on a day and then nothing the following days.

Note: After re-entering the same time alerts (because they don't play), I now have several of the exact same time alerts Enabled, as shown in [Time Alert] in the Alert Manager. Is there a way to delete them?

To delete a Time Alert, select it with the left pointer and then right click on the alert in the Alert Manager and select Delete. You could also select "Disabled" if you want.

As to the problem you are having, does this occur when you close Sierra Chart and then open it again without shutting down your computer, or does it only occur when you shut down your computer and then start it again?

I have exactly the same problem as user 65931.

Historically if I had a Time Alert set to fire every week day at say 9.30am it would so even if I missed a day or so trading and did not have SC open.

Now if I miss a day as I have not opened SC on that day, the Time Alert will no longer activate on subsequent dates unless I go into Alert Manager and edit the time to a future date.

SC never used to do this ie the Alert would activate at the next scheduled time even if SC had not been opened for a number of days.

Like user 65931 I cannot identify exactly what SC s/w version release changed this behaviour, but the way its works now makes the feature worthless.

I have been meaning to create a support board post and this thread prompted me to reply.

I fixed my Time Alerts problem in ver.2679:

I fixed it by:
1) installing a new Win10 update that showed up recently(I elected to have this one installed now). The previous update most likely caused my Alert problem.
2) next, I deleted all the Time Alerts in Alert Manager. And added new Time Alerts.

A general comment about Time Alerts:
It takes a long time to make many Time Alerts.
Would it be possible to augment the current "Add Time Alert" fields with 3 new fields like:

"Repeat Time Alerts Periodically"
"Start Time: xx:xx:xx "
"Every: xx:xx:xx " (e.g. 00:05:00 equals every 5 minutes)
"Stop Time: xx:xx:xx "

***
Also, could SC consider adding more Sounds for Alerts.

It stopped working again today.

It worked for 2 consecutive days on the weekend, even when PC was shut down and SC was closed.

Today I closed Sc and it stopped working.
It also does not work when I edit it (changing the date from 2024-09-30 to 2024-10-01).
It does work if I delete Time Alert and newly put them in again.

We tested this over the weekend, where we put on a Time Alert on Friday, shutdown Sierra Chart for the weekend and on Monday we received the proper time alert again.

If they are working going forward, then our only suggestion is to be sure you are on the current version and enter new time alerts. If you do have a problem again, then let us know.

No, this definitely could never be the solution to an alert issue in Sierra Chart:
1) installing a new Win10 update that showed up recently(I elected to have this one installed now). The previous update most likely caused my Alert problem.

Hello,
I don't think this is a new issue or related to windows/OS whatsoever.
I have been seeing this issue for many months now over multiple machines and different windows versions.
For example, I move to another PC and import my settings (backup/restore procedure), time alerts are already there, they are there in the new installed SC that I restored by settings to (so alarms settings are intact), but they never get triggered, only when I edit them to an updated date/time in the future they would start working again.

I guess this is similar to shutting down and not opening sierra for multiple days like the original post mentions.

It's not a major issue given that there are workarounds to it, but hopefully would get resolved once and for all.

@User925540

It is a huge issue.

Huge issue for me as well.

I do not live in the USA timezone, so I often miss part of, or whole days and having to edit my time alerts everyday is just not workable.

These time alerts used to work just fine if I missed a day.

@SC Engineering: I updated to the latest version and created 4 new time alerts and the problem still exists - if I do not have SC open when one of the time alerts is set for, that alert will not activate for any new future day until I edit it.

See attached screen grab - the top four Enabled Time Alerts are the new ones.

Is there some SC file in a directory on my PC that I need to clear and start from scratch?

Well, it's all relative, I have other issues that I would consider "huge" compared to time alerts not working :) ... in all cases if it's a bug, I'm sure SC team will work on getting it fixed as they always have.

Just another observation, it seems when a reoccurring time alert gets triggered, it updates "Alert DateTime" to the next date/time the alarm should kick off, if the alert doesn't get triggered, the "Alert DateTime" remains on the old value and hence never gets triggered moving forward until the workaround (editing the "Alert DateTime" to a future date/time) is applied.

I had 3 alerts set to get triggered yesterday Oct 4th, 2 of them got triggered because SC was open and I received the alerts, their "Alert DateTime" got updated to the next anticipated time those 2 alerts should get triggered, the third didn't get triggered (SC and the machine SC is running on were shutdown), so that 3rd alert never got triggered and its "Alert DateTime" still showing Oct. 4th. I know for sure this alert will never get triggered in its next schedule occurrences and it will be dead until I edit and update that alert to a datetime in the future.
