Flatten and Cancel vs. Flatten Only - Execution Speed

I've used both these hotkeys 'Flatten and Cancel' and 'Flatten Only'

It seems that 'Flatten Only' executes quicker than 'Flatten and Cancel'

This may just be in my head but I want to confirm how 'Flatten and Cancel' works.

Does this put all priority into first Flattening the position and then Cancelling immediately after or is it all simultaneous and therefore it may take longer to Flatten then when using 'Flatten Only'

Thank you,

Mike

I also just realized there is another feature 'Cancel Orders on Flat Position'

When I use the 'Flatten Only' and have this feature enabled it seems to FIRST Flatten and THEN Cancel Orders.

This seems quicker.

Is this the best method for fastest execution of Flatten & Cancel?

In the case of Flatten and Cancel the orders are canceled and then another order is sent to close the position. All of this happens at the same time, unless this option is set:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Hold Market Order Until Pending Cancel Orders Are Confirmed (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General)

Thank you. That was helpful. What about the feature 'Cancel Orders on Flat Position'?

Does this 'First' Flatten the position and Then cancel the orders?

That feature does not Flatten the position. You have to manually Flatten the position and the orders are canceled after. So that would be the slowest way to be canceling orders.

Sorry, I miss spoke. I meant. Does that feature, When you use the 'Flatten Only' hotkey, 'First' Flatten the position and Then cancel the orders?

I think that's what your saying. This appears to be a quicker execution of the Flattening as it first Flattens and then immediately 'After Flattening' cancels the orders. Slower to cancel orders as you said but quicker to exit the position.

This would be a quicker method of Flattening as the 'Flatten & Cancel' method has to execute three actions at once (Cancel TP, Cancel SL, and Flatten).

My end goal is to Flatten the position as quickly as possible to get the best fill. Cancelling orders is secondary in desired execution speed.

Thanks for your help!

This option:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Menu >> Orders >> Cancel Orders on Flat Position (chart specific)

Will work this way:
. Does that feature, When you use the 'Flatten Only' hotkey, 'First' Flatten the position and Then cancel the orders?
