[Programming Help] - Can STATS data be accessed via code for a custom study?

I am trying to build a custom study to call internal market data using the sc.GetBasicSymbolData() function. I am new to this and I am not able to call internally without opening a chart, this is probably not possible and you will always have to open a chart to collect data, right?
