Horizontal Ray tweak request

I have many tool configs set up. One of those is an Extending Rectangle. It is set to extend right, with labels on the left and center text.
When I plot my Extending Rectangle on a longer term chart, a Daily chart perhaps, and I look at a lower time frame intraday chart, say a 5 minute chart, I can see my drawings from the other chart. My Extended Rectangle appears on the 5m chart with price labels and text on the left, just as it does on the longer term chart where I plotted it.

Extending Rays apparently don't behave the same way. When I plot an Extended Ray on the longer term chart I can see the ray on the smaller time frame chart, but not the text. If I set text to right I can see it on the lower TF, but if set to the left it does not float to the lower TF chart where as the Extended Rectangle price labels and text do. My Ext. Rays are set to extend right, not to extend left.

I would ask, if it doesn't involve too much programing, that you allow the Extended Ray to function the same as the Extended Rectangle.
Thanks!!

We are not seeing any issue with copied drawings and the text from a Ray not showing properly on a lower timeframe. Attached is an image of two charts with a copied ray drawing and text. The one on the right has the copy and is the lower time frame.

Can you please give us an equivalent image of what you are seeing, as we are not able to reproduce what you are stating is occurring.

John,
Thanks for the picks. I've attached two of mine.

I think I see the issue. In the images I've attached you'll find two blue rays and one green ray. All have text. You can see the text of all three in the daily chart image. While you can see all three rays in the smaller timeframe window, you can only see text of the green ray. The difference between them is in the configuration. The blue lines have input 9(?) set to yes - Copy Tool Config Name to Text. The green line is set to NO and I added the text via Modify Text after creating the ray.

I use these rays often. I need some way of hard coding that text into the custom drawing tool.

We are not able to reproduce this, even using the particular workflow you reference (using the "Copy Tool Config Name to Text").

Please get us a chartbook with those two charts in it with the drawings already drawn. We will see if we can reproduce and determine what is occurring. Follow the instructions at the following link, but get us the 2 charts, not just 1:

I'll create a clean CB and set it up and see if I can recreate it.

John,

I started by duplicating my existing daily chart to a new chartbook, removed all the studies and drawings, created a duplicate of that chart inside the new chart book, changed the time frame on the second copy to 5m, and found the same issue.

To remove the possibility of corrupted charts, I then deleted both of those, started with a clean CB, Loaded a new, fresh chart, changed the periodicity to 1-0-0, duplicated that chart, changed the periodicity to 0-1-0. This gave me two brand new, clean charts.

Then I selected my Custom Drawing Tool via my Control Bar button, which is simply a Horizontal Ray configuration. I still have the same issue. I'm uploading the CB here with this.

Hopefully you'll see what I see when you open it.

We see where this is coming from. It only occurs when you set the text vertical alignment to be "Center". If you set it to "Above" or "Below" you will be able to see the text correctly.

We'll see what we can do to fix this.

We have changed the "Horizontal Ray" drawing such that if the text is drawn in the Center, then as the end of the ray is moved off screen, the text will continue to be displayed.

This will be in the next pre-release (v 2700).
