I have two identical instances of Sierra Chart running in parallel.

This morning I noticed that one of them had two extra bars, attached.

The solution was to restart Sierra Chart, and the extra bars disappeared.

This is not a problem for me at all. It does not affect my trading in any way. I love Sierra Chart and you guys rock!

I just thought you'd want to know, in case it's a real issue.

Thanks!

Those chart images are hard for us to understand.

Only post a chart image following these instructions:

If there is any problem with the historical data in a chart, we recommend re-downloading it:

Understood, thanks.

The problem disappeared when I refreshed SC.

I cleaned up the existing screen shots, otherwise I'll wait until next time.

Thanks again!

Hello, this problem happened again.

This time there was a message in the log:
2025-11-18 00:55:02.214 | NQZ25 [CB][M] 5 Min #22 | Out of order timestamps detected. Chart tool drawings and some chart studies may not function properly. Prior Date Time: 2025-11-18 00:55:00.
Next Bar Date Time: 2025-11-18 00:50:00. Filename: NQZ25.scid

Solving Out of of Order Timestamps Issue is helpful, but there is no mention of prevention.

Is there a way to keep this from happening at all?

Thank you very much for your help! My system runs 24/7 unattended and has been flawless. I love Sierra Chart and appreciate the excellent support!

It is very hard to say why this happens. To correct it, simply re-download the data from before the duplicate timestamps:
Historical Intraday Data (Missing Data / Download Errors / Viewing More Data): Retrying the Download When There is Data in the Chart

One possible reason this could happen is if you are sharing the data folder with another instance of Sierra Chart.

OK, thank you very much.

In my case a simple "Reload and Recalculate" solves the problem. Is that a clue?

Could add an automated "Reload and Recalculate" between bars...effective but really ugly.

Thanks!
