Combine 'Modify Text' function into 'Chart Drawing Properties' dialogue box

Is it possible to combine text editing into the Chart Drawing Properties dialogue box for all line drawings? When drawing a line and wanting to modify line properties AND text, its a 2 step process. It would be simpler and more efficient to do it at once via the Chart Drawing Properties dialogue box, similar to the Text Properties dialogue box.

Thanks...just a minor annoyance with editing Text Drawings - If you right click to Modify Text from the chart, the existing text is not highlighted (cursor is at the end). However, if you double-click the text to edit, the text is highlighted. I'm constantly either appending or overwriting text depending on which method I've used. Would be nice to have consistency across all text editing functions (whether for Text or Lines etc).

Where is this new "Text" tab on the chart drawing properties? I've installed version 2671 I draw a rectangle I see no Text tab anywhere. What am I missing?

he/she means to refer to Post #5 (above) from SC Engineering In the Global Settings >> Tool Settings window under 'General' tab, scroll down to the section called 'Other' and you will see 'Display 'Text' Tab on Chart Drawing Properties Window' as an option - select Yes to enable it.

I should have made it more clear. I’ve enabled this text tab feature. That’s not my question. My question, once enabled, where is this new "Text" tab on the chart drawing properties? I've installed version 2671 I draw a rectangle I see no Text tab anywhere.

If you draw a line and right click to open 'chart drawing properties' dialogue box, you'll see the 'Text' tab - see pic attached with example using 'test' text Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-09-09 06:35:58

And, it looks as though its only enabled for line drawings - other drawings still have the old dialogue box style

Is no one able to correctly read my post? Sierra Chart said they added the Text tab to the drawing properties dialog box. I said I enabled this feature I said I drew a rectangle I said I do not see a text tab anywhere. Sierra Chart did NOT say they added the text tab to only some drawings like lines. Regarding my post and rectangles or circles or other drawing tools excluding lines, where is this allusive Text tab?

@user429621 Thank you. I would agree with you. Sierra Chart should revise their description of what exactly changed. I’ve been looking forward to seeing more text functionality for a long time. Still more functionality to come I guess.

In fairness to SC, being the original requestor for this functionality, I only mentioned line drawings in my original post. Perhaps SC can extend this to all drawing types (where applicable) going forward, as I can see the benefit.

In the Pre-Release version (v 2673) there is the "Text" page on the Drawing Properties window when the option is enabled in the Tool Settings for all tools that use the new properties/configuration windows.
