[User Discussion] - Help with Color bar on alert study - Extension Lines

Using the 'color bar on alert' study, I am using the same formula that colors my delta bars (blue/red) to draw extension lines on the main chart. However, these don't appear to be plotting correctly in real-time. There are 3 extension line examples in the attached image. 1) The first red extension line (price - $18255) plots as expected, but on the next candle's wick, it stopped drawing. It wasn't until the retest ~10:00 that it started to redraw this extension line. 2) This blue extension line (price - $18265) should have stopped plotting after the crossover, however it is still plotting. 3) Similar to example 1, this line (price - $18210) stopped drawing after the wick crossed it on the next candle, it wasn't until the retest at 10:57 that it started to draw it again. Any ideas what might be causing the inconsistency in plots? Have I misconfigured a setting or is this a bug? https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1712074618401.png |

1,3) - Each of the 5 red lines start and end as expected, if 'Extend to Future Bar Close Crossing' is selected. 2) - The blue line at 18265 should have stopped as you say, but check the Close/Open at ~10:05 to see if there is a gap for the line to slip through, assuming 'Extend to Future Bar Close Crossing' is selected. - The blue line at 18210 should have stopped at ~10:57 unless that close is just above the line. These issues might be correctible by increasing the granularity of the Value Format in the Color Bar studies. |

Sawtooth, thanks for that response. Your comment got me thinking about how NQ does skip levels while trading and it did indeed skip over the level which is why it didn't close. When I switched the extension line input from 'renko open' to 'open', it fixed the issue. We'll see tomorrow if this also fixes the extension lines plotting/disappearing in real-time tomorrow.
