I made SierraChart Hang while replay was paused.

Doing some weekend experiments, I did the following: New Chartbook New Intraday Chart 5 days 5 Trades/Bar 7 studies: Bar Numbering Bar Time Duration Spreadsheet Formula with Bar Time Duration as input. (very simple subtraction) Highest High / Lowest Low on Bar Duration EMA on Spreadsheet Formula Volume Volume/Number Of Trades I had replay on but was PAUSED while playing with the above studies. It took several minutes. I just about finished writing this up and CPU went from 17% and an hourglass cursor back to normal, as though to say, "nothing to see here - move along." 3-4 minutes It seems to be related to the Highest High / Lowest Low study. Once control was returned to me, I clicked Apply on that study (which was still open) and it's hanging again. (about 5 minutes) The study is looking at a LOT of bars 100,000. The chart is on 5 trades/bar, so less than one day of ES being looked at. Of all studies to cause this, I'm a bit surprised it would be highest high/lowest low. Anyway, thought you should be made aware. Meanwhile, I'll play with smaller data sets. |

Follow up - I'm pretty certain it's the Highest High/ Lowest Low study causing this.

We do not need to be aware of this. There is no problem on the Sierra Chart side. Based upon the amount of data loaded, and the studies being used, the calculations required, there is just a lot of processing going on.
