SierraChart Team,

You are a uniquely wonderful team as shown in your platform and your responsiveness to so many of our user queries.
I just wanted to say thank you, as you have created something that enables me to have a future as a trader.
The community I've been fortunate to be a part of was found through SierraChart (Zyp's group), and they are by far the best group of traders I've ever interacted with. SierraChart as a customizable and extremely open platform attracts these kind of people, I believe.

I hope 2024 is a wonderful year for your team!
Mike

+1 to the SC Support and Engineering Teams for being patient and responsive to all our inquiries and request of assistance with the platform.

Is the Zyp's group by invitation only?

++++ to Tom (aka Sawtooth) for his continued support and sharing tremendous wealth of knowledge freely to everyone here without asking for anything in return. What a remarkable dude you are! Open source is what helps every one grow their skills in turn making them more independent and creative. You are awesome and such a good role model!

I wish we could have someone like you to openly share their ASCIL coding skills as well :-)

@ SCEngineering, you guys rock. It might be lost on the majority of come-lately traders but I recognize your utmost priority on fundamentally-sound engineering / software design. It's truly appreciated & respected.

There are many on this forum, including myself, that share knowledge and answer programming and ACSIL questions.

^^I do not want to hijack this thread as the OP wanted to send thanks to Sierra people, which they deserve. I am also not asking for any recognition for anything I have posted here either. Just stating that there are many, many posts about programming here...all from other programmers since Sierra (in general) does not answer programming questions.

Not only do I love a bit of Sierra but I always like some of the VERY blunt replies from Engineering to a few of the crazy posts/requests. Always makes me laugh.

Keep up the great work guys.

I try to help where I can, but ASCIL is so complex, that sometimes the answer would require significant time to code and test. I am OK with easy answers that don't take much research. If more extensive work is needed, I won't write entire custom studies for free.

Also, unlike spreadsheets where functions behave mostly as you expect them, with ACSIL you are dealing with many objects: Trade Orders, Position Data, Drawing Tools, Arrays, multiple auto-trade settings, etc. Each one of these topics requires testing and debugging. Reading the TPO values is an example of something you cannot do with spreadsheets, so naturally it is going to be more complicated, and you won't learn how it works until you try it.

As I have always said, "There is no such thing as a dumb question, the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked."

So feel free to ask your questions. If it is not too involved, you will probably get an answer.
