I see in another thread (Symbol Limit in spreadsheet) that there is a limit on the number of symbols (probably 90 for equities and 35 for futures). I do not think that this is mentioned in the description of the SC feeds.

How is the limit applied? It is certainly possible that I exceeded the limit by opening too many chartbooks, but if I restart the program and open only one chartbook, why doesn't the limit reset and give me a look at the symbols that I want? When I open a chartbook with nothing but equities, I get updates on only 35 symbols. The rest of the symbols in the quote board are blank and I get the "Over symbol limit" message when I click on one of them.

Is the SC feed a repackaged barchart feed?

Can I increase the symbol limit?

We need to update the documentation to indicate the symbol limit.

We apologize for this. Until recently stock data was not being provided and the 100 symbol limit which the data feed does have, was more than high enough for futures and indexes.

When you reconnect to the Sierra Chart exchange data feed, the limit is definitely reset.

The problem was on one of the servers, the incorrect limit was being applied for stocks. This is now fixed.

You can get now 90 stocks and 35 indexes and futures.

Is the SC feed a repackaged barchart feed?

No it is not. We do use Barchart for the exchange and network connectivity. But the hardware and software are our own. The Barchart normalized stock data feed is used in the background for US equities although it runs through our processes and databases. For the CME exchange, we do have direct connectivity to the CME.

I activated the American Equities feed and now I am stuck with 35 symbols on indexes and futures with my 100 symbols feed.
What is the limit on futures when using a 200 symbols? What about 300?
I hope it is not 70 / 105 with the rest being reserved for equities, that would be a major pain.

Could you maybe document this here?

Thank you!

Thank you for updating it. Is it possible to change the percentages?

No. These are set a certain way and they cannot be changed.
