Hi Support, Flex Renko chart types are very good and provide a competitive edge for Sierrachart, thank you for including them!

As you are looking at performance improvements, can you please review them? They work as designed but charts that use them are considerably slower (3X slower) as compared to other chart types.

Thank you

We are not aware of any performance problems with Flex Renko chart bars.

How many days of data is loaded into the chart?

I have tried both 150 and 30 days for both Renko and Flex Renko but it is the performance difference between the two with the same data. 30 days loads faster of course and increasing bar period helps some but Flex Renko takes longer in both cases.

Not sure what we can do about this. We do not notice this.

What is the Flex Renko setting that you are using and the symbol?

I resolved this by using a shorter time frame and ensuring all of my custom studies had FreeDll set to false (0) (one did not). Thank you and sorry to have taken your time on this!

So, was it the custom study that was slow on the flex renko bar and not the bar itself ?

thnk

Yes, it does make sense the custom study would be the problem much more so than the Flex Renko bars. Building the Flex Renko bars is very fast.

With identical data sets of 45 days and identical custom studies:

1) For YM Futures Renko(10), near instant refresh when simply clicking F6 and OK.
2) For YM Futures Flex Renko (10-8-3) takes 6 seconds to refresh

In this test, I have isolated the only difference to be graph type.

Also, my study graphs reference other study graphs for trade signals and autotrading so this may have something to do with it. For some reason, this configuration is more challenging for Flex Renko.

Clean charts (no studies) for both types are near instant refreshing.

This would not make any difference. The Flex Renko bars are loaded completely independent of studies.

The problem is with the studies. There can be no doubt about this whatsoever. What this means is that when you are using Flex Renko bars you are getting a larger number of bars most likely. Ultimately the reason for the poor performance is something you will need to debug.
