We are not understanding what you are doing in terms of "renaming" the sub-instances. If you are changing the actual folder name, then do not do this. Sierra Chart uses a specific nomenclature for the sub-instances, so the names need to remain as they are. Apart from the question of how many Sub-Instances you can run (we are not sure if there is an exact number, but whatever it is should be more than enough for what you need - how many do you want to open?), we are not understanding the questions you are asking. Can you please give us more specifics for the questions you are still wondering about?
