automating "delete and download data"

Is there a way to automate the "delete and download data" function so as to, e.g. delete and download data every 10 minuets. I have package 3 which allows up to 700 refreshes, so I would not exceed this limit by a long shot. This would then equate to a delayed quote service. I am using "SC Historical Data" trade service. This would be great convenience. Thanks...

No. This is not supported.

However, what you can do is select File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed about every 15 minutes to get updates. If it is done more often, then a download will not occur.

You can try to do this with a windows macro program, e.g. autohotkey, and set it for every 15 minutes, but honestly I have had mixed results trying to do these things reliably, but you might be lucky :)

Thanks vegasfoster for your response to this inquiry of mine. I liked to explore this a bit further. I'm a bit confused on the necessity to disconnect and then reconnect to data feed every 15 minuets. I am able to right click on my chart and "delete and download" as often as I like, (apparently up to 700 times in a single day with package 3). I don't need real time at this time.

Perhaps if a short cut key could be assigned to the "Delete and Download" option then I would be able to work with a macro of some sort. But I bet there are a few traders out there that don't require real time but would benefit from an auto updating of "SC Historical Data" that can be set to whatever time interval they require. I personally would like my charts updated every 10 minuets.

Yes, this will work as well.

We looked into this and it is not possible to assign a shortcut key to Delete and Download Data because it is not known what the starting date-time would be.

Is it possible to assign a shortcut key to "Delete and Download Data" starting with the last bar of a chart regardless of date-time? Better yet, a timed automation of "Delete and Download Data" starting with the last bar of a chart. Barchart provides the data with a ten minuet delay so this would not incur additional fees. This would provide a convenience for traders not requiring real time. Thanks...

Neither of these are supported or planned.
