Spreadsheet data resets on study modification

Is there a setting to prevent the spreadsheet data from resetting and deleting all stored data? I changed the decimal places in scale settings and lost all the data in the spreadsheet, lost as in it refreshed to line one and started populating again.

We are not really understanding the situation. Is this a standard spreadsheet or the Spreadsheet Study? Can you explain what you mean by "refreshed to line one and started populating again"?
