Suggestion - Automatic Trade and Current Quote Symbol Action

Hi, It would be very helpful if IBKR users could create some 'Trade As Only Symbol' template that automatically applies to every ticker they enter (for example if AAPL-NQTV is entered, AAPL-STK-SMART-USD automatically populates in the chartbook chart for that symbol as the Trade As. There could be a wildcard field added where users could put in their preferred format such as *-STK-SMART-USD. Alternatively, it would be nice to be able to import and map a bunch of symbols in bulk such as the attached file which has the NQTV tickers and the Trade As Symbol. If there are common formats that most IBKR users typically use for common stocks it might be good to just set up a library that uses can just tap into if they like the common mapping options presented. If not, they can map one by one. Thank you for considering. |

This is currently supported through the Symbol Settings for the *-NQTV patterns. For more information refer to: Global Symbol Settings: Symbol Settings Specifically: Trade/Quote Symbol: This specifies the corresponding Trade and Current Quote Symbol which will be automatically set with the Symbol in Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol. Therefore, this Symbol set here will set the Trade and Current Quote Symbol in Chart Settings.
Also refer to Clear Trade And Current Quote Symbol On Symbol Change in Chart Settings. It is supported as of version 2396 to use a pattern for the Trade/Quote Symbol set here. This allows proper translation to any particular futures contract month and year. This is also useful for stock symbol patterns in the case of Interactive Brokers.
